Toronto Home Ownership Now Within Reach As Payments From The Canadian Bread Settlement Roll Out
By Andrew Scott
Toronto - Palpable expressions of joy could be heard across Toronto on Wednesday as $49.11 was deposited into the no-cost chequing accounts of millions of residents who received their share of the Loblaw/Weston Packaged Bread Settlement.
“I had all but given up on the prospect of home ownership in this city,” stated Wyatt Fletcher, 38, wiping away a tear of gratitude, “but thanks to the ‘industry-wide price-fixing arrangement,’ that semi in Leslieville just got a whole lot closer.”
Sadly, Fletcher’s girlfriend, Amy, received nothing from the settlement, having gone Keto for much of the 2000s.
